Are you looking to register or title an out-of-state vehicle, trailer, RV, or mobile home in Florida? To do so, you'll first need a Notary Public to complete a VIN and Odometer Verification. After relocating to Florida, you have 30 days to register or title your vehicle. You can handle this at the Tax Collector’s office yourself, or AA Professional & Notary Services can personally handle the process for you.
Important Requirements:
You or your appointed Power of Attorney must appear in person at the tag office with a valid ID.
Proof of insurance is required to register your vehicle.
Before You Visit the Tag Office: You will need a completed and notarized Vehicle Identification Number and Odometer Reading (Form 82042). AA Professional & Notary Services will provide the printed form, so there’s no need to worry about printing it yourself. Please note that while your vehicle can be titled without registration, it cannot be driven until fully registered.
Service Details:
VIN Verifications at your preferred location cost $30, plus a mobile fee starting at $25 (may vary based on distance).
For those purchasing a license plate, don’t forget to bring proof of insurance.
In-Person Inspections Required: All VIN Verifications must be conducted in person, as the Notary Public is required to perform a physical inspection of the vehicle. This service cannot be performed over the phone.
FAQ's
No, is not allowed. F.S. 117.209(1) says an online Notary may perform any of the functions authorized under F.S. Chapter 117, Part I, excluding marriages, as an online notarization. Part I of Chapter 117 does not list verifying a VIN as a notarial act. That authorization comes in F.S. 319.23(3)(a)2. Furthermore, verifying a VIN requires the Notary to physically inspect the vehicle ID number before signing the section of the VIN form, which is not possible if you are asked to perform an online notarization.
